Background
The unit was founded on the 8/4/1974, It was founded by Rev.Fr. Paulo Kigoonya (parish priest), Rev.Fr. Joseph Kizza and the entire community of Bethlehem Catholic Parish with the permission of Masaka Diocesan Bishop and authorization by Ministry of Health. The unit provides its service to the entire population of Bethlehem parish and the sub country of Nabigasa with a catchment population of 5146.
Location
It’s located in Kyotera District, 12kms where from Kyotera town.
Identity and purpose
It was founded with an aim of assisting and bringing health services near to the local population because people before had to travel very long distance to get Medical Services and be attended to solve their health problems.
OWNERSHIP
The unit is owned by the Registered Trustees of Masaka Diocese, under the Uganda Catholic Medical Bureau and supervised by the Diocesan Health Office.
SERVICES
It provides services in fulfilment to the mission of the Catholic Church. It provides health services as guided and approved by Uganda Catholic Medical Bureau. The unit works in cooperation with other stakeholders in health care provision including Government and other organisations especially those in health care provision.
As it provides its services, it doesn’t discriminate on the ground of Religion or political affiliation. Preferential option for the poor is always pursued. It also centres on provision of; curative preventive, promotive and Rehabilitation Health Care for the population in the area and else more.
